[John 1:1-18]

Christianity is Christ. Many of the world's religions believe in one God. Almost all believe that humanity has problems and needs saved somehow. And most think we expected at least one trial, a trial based on what we do during our pilgrimage on earth. But only Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ is the key that opens the main doors of our lives past, present and future. Only Christianity regards Jesus as the only mediator between God and men. Only Christianity sees Jesus as the only real hope of salvation .., a salvation based on grace and mercy through faith, not on self, or education, or the control of information or the modification of behavior, and in the community, or any other good retail not even have an admirable position on the royalty, or having riches.

Why is that? Why is it that Christianity attitude was so uncompromising about the centrality of Jesus Christ? Because Jesus Christ is God incarnate. This man, who was born in Bethlehem, Mary and Joseph was raised in Nazareth, is also fully God. While Mary's arms as a baby cradled, the sustained existence of the universe. While breast feeding Maria, commanded the valuable rain across the land. While learning the side of Joseph the carpenter's trade, the angels adored him and praised. This man who ate, got tired, which was frustrated, to express their anger, sweating, suffering, weeping, was misunderstood and rejected-this man who at the same time was the Deity, and did not need anything, maintained control over all things, was all-powerful, omniscient, he loved to the fullest and was perfect in every way. He is the God-Man: All that belongs to humanity, except sin, belongs to Him fully God and yet fully man. Christianity alone affirms that truth about Jesus. This is so central that if Christianity was wrong about Jesus, would be false. Christianity is Christ. Without him, Christianity has nothing special to say, nothing special to give, to offer no hope, no forgiveness to promise, to ensure no salvation, no Son, nor Spirit, or Father, or anything.

John, the human author of the Fourth Gospel, he well knew this fact. So in the prologue to his Gospel, consisting of the first eighteen verses, gives the basic facts about Jesus: who, what, why he came to earth and why we should listen and not turn away. The facts presented are startling, revolutionary, stir the soul. But more than that, can create life, at least for those who have ears to willingness to listen and obey.
